Fantastic. Ivana Merkin would've been better, though.

I don't know if it's fake, but she's been writing under that byline for a long time, and not always about vaginas.
At least according to [link] it's not. But I certainly took a double take at the headline/byline.
I'm surprised she managed to resist making a joke about it, since she does write a lot about sex. But I suppose if your last name is really Merkin, it gets unfunny pretty fast.
Oh, my god, this episode of The Tick has Ron Perlman in it.

Yeah, he's the gayest hero ever. I love that episode.
That episode is seriously classic.

Happy New Year, everyone, and Happy Birthday, Shrift!
No meara, but I do have to defend the movie Godspell, though--it's a family tradition to watch it at Easter time (back-to-back with Jesus Christ, Superstar, if time allows), and I have a definite affection for the goofy humor and excellent songs. When I was at Marquette, they had a "Godspell Mass" on midnight of Palm Sunday that was always packed.
Seeing Victor Garber in Titanic was a surprise, because that was the first thing I'd seen him in since he played Jesus. Lynne Thigpen was a Joliet native, so it was great following her career after the movie, as well.
In related news, I turned on an oldies station in the car today, and heard "Day by Day," which surprised the shit out of me. I don't think I've heard it on the radio since the late '70s.
Happy Birthday, shrift!
I was a townie during college, but honestly aside from traditional holiday staples I preferred lunchroom food to my mom's cooking. If I'd gone away to college my reaction to a care package from home probably would have been "Crap! Do I HAVE to eat it?"
