Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Does that mean it's a Googlewhack?

I'm guessing it's an "I'm feeling lucky." I just had no idea it did that. I could have saved myself some time. But I can't predict when it'll work, because it's not doing it now.

Great. I'm going to be playing with that all day now.

Did you click the feeling lucky button by accident?

There's no feeling lucky button in Opera -- I'm just typing in the URL space.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

FF (and I believe also Opera) do a feeling lucky search automagically if they can't resolve what's in the location box as a url.

Sometimes. I've tried it four times, and twice it took me to the site, and twice it tried to take me to volkswagensantamonica and displayed a failure message.

Weird.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Happy birthday Shrift - may you spend today doing what you want to do.

My brain, despite breakfast and caffine is still sleeping. Sadly , it was able to read the texas link.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm just typing in the URL space.

Oh, I misread your post.

This is pretty cool, actually. (I never noticed it before!)

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Does google do that if you have the google bar installed?

I mostly notice it when it's an annoyance -- I expect the other magical "add a www and a com" behavior, and I end up someplace I didn't mean to be.

Coding and Sleeping

This is pretty cool, actually. (I never noticed it before!)

I think I did it several times before I actually realized that was what I was doing. In my mind I had gone to Google and done the search.

(never mind - I read the question assbackwards)

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Does google do that if you have the google bar installed?

For me (I use IE with Google bar), if you type something in the address bar that isn't a URL, it gets treated like a Google search.
