What is even happening?

I was just reading The Boston Globe. There's an article on the ABC After School Specials. It talks about how there wasn't much TV aimed at teens when they first made their debut. It talks about the non-campiness of them, the straightforwardness of them, the cheesiness of them, and the constant (often negative) references to them in other shows and movies.

It's usually not a compliment. But there's something respectable, too, about having a reputation for being unabashedly, unrepentantly good.

The article is here: [link]

Apparently, they're on DVD, now (and pretty cheap--around $12 per set).

I think this is a complete set, here: [link]

...

While tooling around Amazon, I saw that there's a The Best of the Electric Company DVD set available for pre-order: [link]

This concludes your blast from the past.

Happy New Year Buffistas!

I spent NYE hanging out with Ouise, Helena Handbasket, Megan, Elena and herself. Had some absinthe. Was home by 1. A great night out.

Now I have to see if the potential brunch people are up after their carousing and make plans.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Earth as seen from Mars.

LA at night in 1908 and 1990s.

Freaky fluid dynamics.

Hello 2006! I did end up sleeping quite like a brick on the cuddle lounge, belt and all, lights blazing. Morning, morning, morning.

I suddenly feel I should have made brunch plans. Next year I will make some.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Now I have to see if the potential brunch people are up after their carousing and make plans.

Do brunch people taste better after they've been carousing?

ION, someone (me) left the champagne uncorked, so no mimosas for me....

Now tagless for your comfort.

Do brunch people taste better after they've been carousing?

Nah. Sorta gamey.

That depends on how long they've been marinating.

And what they've been marinating in. People who mixed their drinks, ewww. But if they stuck with a fine scotch all night....tasty!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Happy New Year, RIO!

I am up. And I should call my sister about going running but I don't really want to. Maybe we could go tomorrow?
