msbelle, go you for thinking ahead and hope your next couple-of-days will be wonderful.
PMM! I finally watched the bouncing-Lilly video, and now I have a new thing to attach to the phrase "most adorable thing EVER".

Happy New Year, istas of the Buffy!
I bought tickets to go to the Cinderella Ball but I was feeling lazy and mopey all day. So instead, my friend and I went out to dinner then went back to his place to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I'm back home now and just finished "Tucker: The Man & His Dream". Quite a few scenes turned out to be filmed up here. Which reminds me: Welcome to the Bay Area, juliana!
Oh yeah... Not to be outdone by Christmas last year (which I spent dealing with a water heater that leaked all over), the power went out last night at 3am and while walking around unplugging things I discovered that the rain was leaking into the basement. I couldn't do much about it so I went back to sleep. Power was on by morning. But when I went back down there there was a lot more water. Turns out a sump pump system I didn't even know the house had had not switched back on when the power came on. I spent a good half hour or more soaking and wringing with a mop and only kinda getting rid of the worst of the leakage. I hope this isn't becoming a holiday tradition in this house. Mostly, this house feels like it has a good spirit.
There's a bouncing Lily video? And I missed it???
WHERE???
Spidra, I hope this was the using-up of all the bad luck that's assigned to you for 2006, and that it will treat you well from now on.
Fay! Also, bouncing Lilly video.
Thanks, Nilly. I hope so, too. Hope you and yours have a wondrous 2006!
I keep hearing banging noises. When I lived in a good neighborhood (which is pretty much just in my youth), Fourth of July and NYE didn't scare me. But living in the sketchy neighborhoods I've been able to afford since being on my own, I always get jumpy with the explosings. Here it could be gunshots. At some point I just have to ignore things and go to sleep.
Nilly! Queen of Nillification! Thank you for the Bouncing Lily video! I'm downloading right now.
Thanks, Spidra, and the same to you.
Fay, you didn't end up coming to Israel, eventually, right?
Also, I hope the job situation you posted about some time ago in the "Beep Me" thread will be sorted out, and to a result in your favor, like an exciting new place to go to or wonderful new children for you to teach.
Nope, still haven't made it to Israel. However, it now looks like I'm only going to be in Egypt until the end of this academic year, so I need to get a move on if it's going to happen. Must admit that I'm feeling slightly nervous about it now, in the wake of the recent kidnapping-at-gunpoint of two blokes from our sister school in Gaza. And the kidnapping of 3 Britons last week. Nevertheless, I hear many nice things about Israel from friends who have been, and - Nilly!

Alas, visiting Israel, Jordan or anywhere else is now a moot point, because I am DED from the cuteness of Dancing!Lily (with cat).

Oh, yes, the news here is full of this story.

Oh, it's lovely. There's so much to see, in such a variety. And you wouldn't even have to be in any of the (well, more) dangerous places, if you choose to. And - well, it seems like you already want to make that trip, so I don't really have to sell it to you, right?
[Edit: x-post with your dedness, of course. But, hey, how could you respond any other way? I mean, those eyes, those cheeks, that smile!]
