Happy Birthday Emily!
I do not want to work, either.

Happy Birthday Emily!
I do not want to work, either.
I am here, watching Battlestar Galactica and compiling evaluations. No one else is here, but I need to stay to answer the phone.
So, I realize I have no idea where I was supposed to be meeting at 4, but neither of the other people involved seem to be in the building.
And then I just had a conversation that made it clear that an email I sent yesterday was never read, so no WONDER my question in it has yet to be answered. I swear.
I need an egg roll. Acquiring an egg roll is very important to my happiness.
Um, is it likely you'll be able to get an egg roll? Soonish?
I would be so psyched if I had ANY FREAKING CLUE what was going on right now.
I find that to be true a lot, too, Shrift.
I'm planning on calling for take away in a minute. And if they forget my egg roll this time, I am driving back to get it, because I'm doing a whole bunch of nothing at work today.
I find it weird when an e-mail of mine is opened, but on follow-up the recipient seems startled when I refer to its content.
What took the cake was me referring to an IM conversation in which the recipient had replied in agreement to something I'd said, and a few hours later denied every being given that information. Until I reminded him of instant messaging.
I'm always so embarassed to be corrected on something like that. It surprises me that other people aren't.
Your workplace sounds kind of poisonous when people consistently force you to prove that you're actually telling the truth.
I find it very bizarre, and oddly pervasive. I mean, I work with a lot of people...we're a huge company, and my department can provide service to any of the tens of thousands.
I think there's an overabundance of e-mail that contributes to it. Often stuff just doesn't get read. But I'm at risk of being put on detail detail, so that they don't fall through the cracks.
Me? I'm so detail-impaired! Just more paranoid than everyone else, it seems. And I don't think other people should be taken off the hook, either. I'm on it, everyone should be too.
