Boss covered phones for me during lunch today. So instead of handling something or taking the email address so I can handle it in email, I'm now required to call this customer back. From the description, the customer sounds like the type that's going to stretch into a 20 min. call of why the software asking for a serial number has nothing to do with the product they purchased from us and would they please call Adobe?
Very happy because I managed to snag an extra ticket to a sold out once-a-year only gig. My friend hadn't gotten his in time and I'm too broke to buy tix for people unless I'm SURE they can make it. So I hadn't gotten him a ticket at the same time I bought mine. But I got a dispensation today. The volunteer work I did for that venue has had the best payoff of any volunteer work I've ever done! Woot!
I need to send my parents something like this:

It's bilingual!
Vomito. Who knew? Okay, I guess I know who knew.
Tracked down the Fresh Air piece...I have love for the Clooney. He sounds...well, not chipper, but too upbeat for merely philosophical. Must have been hell. I feel for him. I will now try and emulate him. I wonder if that will include making out with Lucy Liu?
I think I'd give the evil eye to anyone that told me to forget what it felt like to not have the pain, but it's true that every time I focus on "It's just like before!" it ends badly. The brain is a troublesome organ.
I think I need the warning placard.
I know I am bored.
These two things are in no way related.
You mean you don't hack up hairballs in fits of boredom?
Pandora.com tells you
why
it's playing you each selection.
You Wear It Well by Debarge?
Based on what you've told us so far, we're playing this track because it features a subtle use of vocal harmony, mild rhythmic syncopation, extensive vamping, a smooth male lead vocalist and prominent synth drums.
On the other hand, it played me No Cars Go by Arcade Fine
because it features basic rock song structures, a subtle use of vocal harmony, mild rhythmic syncopation, mixed acousitc and electric instrumentation and major key tonality.
And that didn't work out as well.
Ooh, I should try Pandora. I wonder if it would tell me, "...we're playing this track because you like pretentious crap"
You mean you don't hack up hairballs in fits of boredom?
YOU PROMISED NOT TO TELL.
I'm going to cry now.
Just ... put a table over it and call it redecorating.
I wonder if it would tell me, "...we're playing this track because you like pretentious crap"
It played my Housequake, and I asked why. It gave me an answer kinda like the ones above when all I was really expecting was "Because you started this whole thing with Prince, idiot!"
It seems it has come to me seeking abuse from web applications. Is this what web 2.0 has to offer?
