I'm definitely heading over to NJ for Christmas next year--as much as I love my father, spending Christmas Eve with his wife's family was not as much fun as one might think (I knew about 2/3rds of them, and none of them were too interested in chatting with me except for the two-year-old daughter of one of the cousins and my stepbrother's kindergartner, who gave me a big hug when I got there), and opening presents on Christmas morning also bit when everyone else had a pile of presents and I had a little gift bag and envelope.
Rah.
But, it is a new day, so:
Happy birthday to Jesse, Theodosia, and Rayne!!
And HAPPY KPRINKLE to everyone!!!
Oh, I forgot to post this--the CUTEST EVER quotes from our friend's just turned three-year-old, First, he showed me a toy which was a figurine of a blonde guy in a cape and told me it was "Mouse Boy." I was trying to figure out what story had a blonde mouse boy in it when his mom said, what's his other name? "Draco Mouseboy," he said.
We were talking about Hanukkah because he had just been at a special kid's event about it at their temple. I was prompting him. "Hanukkah is the Festival of..." "gelt!" he announced with great joy.
WRT Kristen and Polgara's cats.... we'll watch them until we're told not to. If Kristen needs a break and doesn't feel up to it, then we got it covered.
Ruby is super easy for us to take care of, though. We won't freak her out and bring her here (because our dogs + maceo + mom and dad's dog Molly would be enough to make anyone insane-o) but we'll stop by each day.
Oh, that is adorable, Robin! Oh and wee baby grand piano, Allyson! Melt.
Walter (my singular dog) throroughly enjoyed the walk, Kat. Lots of new things to smell. And really, as far as he's concerned, any walk is a good walk. He's now lying on top of the down comforter on the bed looking quite pleased with himself.
Walter is a great dog name. Dogs are remarkably easy to please, which is one reason to love them. simple needs.
He's in for a real treat this week. We're taking him with us to my sisters where he'll get to play with his "cousins" - my sister's dog and my brother's 2. Between us we have somehow ended up with 3 Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mixes. Watching them all try to herd each other is going to be so fun.
HA! That would be fun to watch... luckily none of our animals try to herd.
My sister had two dogs that were austrailian shepard/ yellow lab mixes. It was really funny to watch them heard my sister and BIL toward the garage at dinner time
My cat hasn't shut up this afternoon. She's currently whining in the kitchen after knocking all the empty boxes that I haven't yet thrown away off of the table and excuse me while I stop her from shredding my paper towel...
