Well, I've been the recipient of no less than three Christmukkah miracles this year:

• I found not only a good Christmas present, but also a good (Dec 31st) birthday present for my impossible-to-buy-for cousin.
• I got 13 consecutive undisturbed hours of sleep in my parents' home on Christmas Eve. This has previously happened only when I was suffering delerium and a 104° fever.
• My mother bought me the exact gift I asked for and nothing else, which may mean that all the natural laws of the universe have been revoked.

I got the complete Calvin & Hobbes. It can either be used as a book or a piece of furniture.

I gave two away for xmas: one to Emmett and one to JZ's brother. Those fuckers are heavy. They triple bagged it for me at the Cody's downtown and it almost pulled my socket out of my shoulder lugging it home on Muni.

Still, it's a thing of leaden beauty.

Poking head out of lurkdom (grr, I miss you guys!) to post that, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is a triple Buffista event, with the birthdays of Jesse, Rayne (whom I hadn't seen posting in forever, so I hope the well-wishes find her somehow) and Theodosia. Happy birthdays for all the lovely ladies! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year.

Happy (holi)days, to everybody who has days. To those who don't, how did you manage to play with the fabric of time?

I walked the last guest to his car walked back in the house, did not stop to pick up dishes, did not stop to turn off lights, bed was my destination and nothing could foil my plan. Ah.

I also had the insomnia last night. The guest bed I was sleeping in also kept rejecting the sheets it was made with.

In fairness to the bed, the sheets were ugly when my mother bought them in the 70's, so I think I would reject them too.
