Went to the new-and-improved eerily-empty Century City mall.
Because some of the big convention hotels are nearby, I occasionall find myself sitting at the outdoor tables at this mall, drinking coffee, reading, and avoiding academics. Over the years, the place has become kind of a touchstone for me. I sit there drinking coffee and thinking 'Huh, here I am again,' kind of the way that I do with certain neighborhoods in New York or public squares in Europe. I feel kind of foolish about it--I mean, it's a stupid mall, not the Piazza Navona for heaven's sake, but you can't control which places become meaningful to you over time. I was happy that they decided to spruce it up last year.
We had the Yule log on this morning. It was surprisingly pleasant.
I talked to my folks and my sister in japan- I forgot to tell about my new t-shirt that says " radical militant librarian at your service" how I wishI could wear it to work.
I don't think I can be entertaining. Unless folding laundry is entertaining.
I watched a little Yule log last night. Now I'm watching a history channel special on Cereal.
-t, if it was my laundry you were folding I would be very entertained.
Merry Happies. Good day. Long day. A lot of good food, presents, and familia. All's quiet now. I just finished a(nother) piece of pie. Yep, good day.
Dinner was going to be early - but I got on the phone with my sister in Japan - so now I am waiting ...
ND, are they talking about Kellog?
So far Kellog, Post, and one other, but I missed the name. I think he's the one responsible for shredded wheat.
