I don't like vampires. I'm gonna take a stand and say they're not good.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

No turkey here because I don't want to have to cook one. There will be ham and there will be salmon.

I just saw Brokeback Mountain. ::sigh::

hip deep in pie

Happy Hannukah and Merry Kprinkle!

Xmas is done for the year. Manic tearing of presents and ritual sacrifice with pie, done. Now is the turkey turpor, loosening of the belts, and playing with new toys.

And napping. Always napping.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

We went to the retirement community's Christmas/Holiday dinner, which was very nice. The people who run this place do a very astute job of figuring out how to bring people together -- over food, and good food at that. So an elderly person is much less likely to go without human interaction for more than half a day, and there are plenty more opportunities to be social and pursue hobbies and crafts. Also, there is a member-run library at each center, and a consignment shop, a beauty shop, bank and so on.

For the evening, my mom borrowed a cat from her friend, in order for a) the cat to get a treat and b) to give my mom something to fuss over, so that she's a little more distracted from going into a funk over I've Sold My Only House And Now I Am Homeless At Christmas. Getting some help in getting the apartment properly set up is also helping, on my part....

brillig

Loaner cats are a thing of genius, and gives old cats a purpose in life when they're not so up for being cute. Warm, fuzzy, purring lumps go far to brighten any occasion.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I just saw Brokeback Mountain. ::sigh::

Did it break you, and did you have to go all the way to the Grove?
