I would be there right now.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Well today the commute was an hour and a half. We opted for the train instead of the water taxi and we missed the first one b/c it was too crowded. There seems to be a lot more cars in the city today.

I have a meeting at 10, am not ready for it and don't seem to care.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Yay!

Resolution to Transit Strike May Be Imminent

A resolution to New York City's transit strike is imminent and is likely to be announced as soon as this morning, a person close to the talks said today.

The person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity given the sensitivity of the information, said subways and buses could be running as early as today's evening rush.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

The person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity given the sensitivity of the information, said subways and buses could be running as early as today's evening rush.

That seems incredibly optimistic.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just hope they're back when I come back to town on Monday. Ugh.

You know what's sad? If you click through Tom's link now, the headline and lead are as follows:

New Yorkers Hustle Through Morning Commute for 3rd Day

Representatives from the transit workers union and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority met this morning for the first time since the transit union began its strike three days ago, a person close to the talks said today

Yeah, that anonymous source was squashed pretty quickly.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Hivemind question, quasi-related to tipping:

Does anybody leave a cash gift for the postal delivery person? How much, generally, if you do? My service used to suck, so I never bothered, but at my new digs the person's been pretty good (that includes taking away stuff I've left out that was for former tenants).

Also, how do you address the envelope or card it if you don't know the person's name (I'm never home when the mail comes during the week)?
