I overtip. In fact, I just tipped my hairdresser $40 on a cut and color. Which I normally don't do, but it was the holidays and that was my gift.
So I'm thinking green might be my new pink. I will still honor and love the pink, but I'm feeling the green love.
I think taking care of people like that is a NY thing.
I do checks so I can have a record of what I gave and know that the right person gets the money. I figure cash could be taken by whoever finds it first. I have a staff of 6.
Now I just need to remember if I am increasing 10% or 5% a year. I think 5% cause I could afford to keep doing 10% a year for as long as I plan to be here. And new staff, they start back down at the base.

Oh yeah -- I only know the main super's name, but I know I've seen other guys around. Crap. The main guy is the only one who's been in my apartment. I think a check to him will have to do.

I, ashamedly, didn't know about the hairdresser tip FOREVER. I always threw in a few extra bucks but still. I'm trying to make up for it now. OTOH, I got my Alison about 10 customers (or rather, she got them based on what she did with my hair-including men!) so I think she forgives me. Plus, I pay out big bucks to her annual marathon for Lymphoma (her very young husband had it) so I hope she forgives me for the first couple of years where I was clueless. Still trying to make up for forgetting the shampoo person.
