Joyce: You don't think it's too obvious? I think I look like I have a cat on my head. Buffy: But a very well groomed cat. Joyce: Well that's a comfort.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Thanks for being all thoughtful and stuff y'all. Finally made it home. Now I'm off to get a scotch or two.

Jesse: Go booze! Choose booze!

Also I'm wearing my TWOP Buffy shirt, because it makes me feel better.

Tea with scotch and honey is also good. My voice is still a bit wonky. High register still gone, but at least I don't sound like a seal any longer.

ONe more thing! My Amazon shipment came in! Yay Hec's book! Yay college football! Yay Angel!

So that was good.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am so glad you have good things, Daisy!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That is good, DJ.

Jesse, did you go with the alcohol?

I have five hours of sleep between now and noon tomorrow. I figure I'll go to bed at the normal time (or slightly late), and then wake up extra-early. That makes sense, right?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I will go with the alcohol shortly.

For you, ita, waking up extra early probably makes sense. Me, I'd stay up late late.

I think I'll get bored staying up late. I need a reason to stay up, and never seem to need a reason to wake up. Yeah, I'll do that.

Are you only supposed to sleep five hours, total? That sucks. I'd stay up extra late, but then, staying up late is more my speed. I don't like waking up early no matter how many hours are behind me. Which you have probably already figured out.

I'm still amused by one morning I woke up to take meds on vacation. There were like four people up, and one was sitting in the glow of their laptop at the table. I asked what time it was. "4:15" "OK!" and then I went right back to bed. Sorta summed up the nutty schedule. I think I got up just before 7 that day.

xpost with Jesse: HAH. We're different creatures than ita. I can ALWAYS find something to entertain me to stay up.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Yay for being home, and good things, DJ. You definitely deserve them.

My work internet connection died about an hour and a half before I was due to leave.

Work kept coming in.

It didn't get done.

Oh well.

If there were people, or I were out...but not by myself. I like falling asleep way too much to make up reasons not to do it.

However, falling back asleep bites. Tomorrow's going to bite anyway. Bleyecch. I can't even have ginger ale. Bastards.
