To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice, with pie.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Oh, no, brenda!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Well, luckily I'm not alone. I mean the national head guy is really on top of this. n I emailed him a few minutes ago to let him know what was going on.

I heard some pretty bad stories today, and they made me teary, but this woman I had to shut the door for and just bawl big weepy tears. She did make me smile a bit though, because she feels safer in New Orleans than in Texas. I told her "Oh yes ma'am. I understand."

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

The workplace stories are creepifying and sad. Occasionally both.

You'll need my address, huh? Or do you have it?
I'll need it.

My light is no longer haunted. And I snagged my flashlight back. I am waiting for kittenish to hurl herself up to the top of the closet to inspect the new fixture. What I am not doing is a last minute pell mell cleaning of my place before my mom gets here. In maybe five or 10 minutes.

No, I'm inside a big building and nowhere near windows. Freaky.

Have you left work yet? How bad is traffic? (I know you take public trans, but you can at least see the roads and I can't!)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I know this is really painful work for you, Daisy, but I'm glad there are people like you doing it. I'm hoping the people you are helping get some comfort from you.

I am feeling smart. It'll pass, I'm sure. In light of the possibility of sleet, I covered my windshield with a tarp thingy. So at least I won't have evil scraping to do in the morning.

I'm getting the pig!

ita, have you seen the Kevin Smith skit about working with Prince? It’s on the An Evening With Kevin Smith dvds. If you haven’t seen it, you must. Hilarious.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

WTF? Huge blast of thunder in the middle of a snow storm.

Huh, I missed the thunder. Must've been to far south for me. I was gonna do some Christmas shopping tonight but I decided to wait until after tomorrow morning rush. My view of Devon looks pretty slushy right now and even the cabbies are driving cautiously.

Daisy Jane, I don't think I could deal with that, but it is so good that you and others are helping these people.
