Our wings are not tired.

No way I would consider going to the mall. Eeeek.

Time Persons of 2005: Bill and Melinda Gates and Bono

That works for me. I heard a lot worse suggestions.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

flea, I suggest taking two aspirin and going down for a nap until the urge passes.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Today I'm going to brunch at my aunt & uncle's in Brookline and then going to see my cousin sing in Handel's Messiah . Should be a nice day, I hope. I even have put on makeup for the occasion!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I flipped through Time Magazine's photos of the year, and it's all Katrina, Katrina, Rita, Tsunami, Kashmir earthquake, Iraq, Katrina...by the time I left the waiting room, there'd been not one photo unrelated to a war or disaster.

eta: No, there was one, a woman from a country I don't remember who used all her savings to run for office and lost. So not like, happy, or anything.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Entering the years of the tracks. I have smart playlists that'll give me high rated songs from a particular decade. The CDDB isn't that good about putting years on, not to mention I need to give each track in a compilation their correct year.

I really need to do that, but it's so daunting! I have a ridiculous amount of compilation albums.

I am clearly insane, necause I woke up in an excellent mood and now want to go to the mall. I mean, we need to go to the mall to get one thing, but I WANT to go.

I hope flea has already left, because that's the kind of feeling you need to take advantage of ASAP.

I need to do some Christmas shopping online and pick up my apartment before my study date later.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

This is so sad -- polar bears drown as Arctic ice melts:

SCIENTISTS have for the first time found evidence that polar bears are drowning because climate change is melting the Arctic ice shelf.

The researchers were startled to find bears having to swim up to 60 miles across open sea to find food. They are being forced into the long voyages because the ice floes from which they feed are melting, becoming smaller and drifting farther apart.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Damn. Certain individuals in the current administration who are in denial about global warming should be required to swim up to 60 miles across open sea to find food. IJS.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

JZ and I slept in on a cold and rainy San Francisco morning. We've consumed oatmeal and cappucino, and now we are trying to imitate the face of the boxing cat recently featured on The Colbert Reporrr.
