"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Also right by a terrific comic book store whose name I'm brainfarting on,

Comics and Comix

eta: Wrong, apparently. I defer to the local.

Capoeira? With groin kicks? Cool. Also, rare.

Well, they're all hopped up on caffeine.

I defer to the local.

It moved to a big space on Shattuck. Also, the Half Price Books closed on Solano Ave and moved to Shattuck. I never have enough lunch hours to spend in these places.

Oh! It's the one that was just next door to the Pendragon on Solano? That used to be my Friday evening ritual: walk the dog up to Solano, hit the bookstores, hit the video store, and stop for dinner at Filippo's for takeout. I loved that neighborhood.

Current neighborhood has a bookstore, but it's new books only and it closes at 7 pm, and there isn't anywhere near as much good food. Lots of nail salons, though.

Yup. Change "dog" to "DH" and "Friday" to "midweek" and "Filippo's" to "Zachary's" and you have a slice of my life.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Sad but true: I am sitting here not going to let my boss know I'm available for my yearly evaluation, despite the fact that a) I have already read said evaluation and b) he's told me there isn't going to be anything bad. Twice.

Okay, this is me, going, because that's just silly.

Go get your evaluation, Katie, because then it will be over. And we know you're fabulous: let him say so, too.

(Ps: did you see what Nanda wrote for me? So happy! Although I suspect that she figured my request for actual plot would have scared everyone else away...)

All done. See? Silly.

And yes, I saw it! It's fabulous. I am green with envy of both of you. Plus, now she can read mine.

You know what's great about this whole gen ficathon thing? I never have to wonder whether the stories are work-safe.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Network's down again. Oddly, still sad.

OMG yes. So much less stressful.

Perkins and Sparky, if you're still around, I'd like to join the Brokeback Mountain expedition on Saturday. I suggest we pick somewhere Outside the Embarcadero Center to meet, since I always get horribly lost in there.
