And don't you ever stand for that sort of thing. Someone ever tries to kill you, you try to kill 'em right back! ... You got the right same as anyone to live and try to kill people.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Why Monday's Daily Show was a repeat.

We get bonuses (if at all) sometime in the spring. We shall see.

Had a meeting with my boss in which she finally raised the illness question. I reminded her I'd not taken a sick day this whole time, and in fact was working from the ER when I had to go in. I explained the whole 1-3 (yeah, we're up to three some days) migraines a day thing, and that I was making sure I was getting everything done -- I might not be present, but I was dependable.

It's hard to read her, but when we discussed other work responsibilities I could take on, she did mention taking into account what of them I could do from home.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

We get our bonus and raises on 12/31.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

My Looniversity never gives bonuses. Ever. I used to love the $25.00 personal check I got at my first job for a Christmas bonus.

Where do you come from? Where do you go? What is your scene, baby? We just gotta know.

I still haven't spent the bonus I got a year ago, which was supposed to go towards fixing up my apartment.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

bonus - DH is at an 'all-hands' meeting now. His boss said it was nothing to worry about. So I suggested that maybe there was a bonus. We laughed and went on with life. ( 3 years ago there was a 3% wage cut and a wage freeze ever since)

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Oh, that's so sad, ita.

Do you already have a large flatscreen monitor?

I have a small flatscreen monitor, 15". It's sufficient for my purposes. I do, however, want a new computer desk. Hmm.

How much is a Tempur-Pedic mattress?

2,800 lottery tickets.

Hmm. I think not: I'd never keep track of the numbers!

I keep planning to get regular house-cleaning and then don't. That could be an option.

Given the hours your DH works, Beth, that's insane. I do hope he'll find a better job soon: he deserves it.

Art Crawl!!!

That is so sad! (TDS story.)

ita, I think that you are right: although there are tricksey people who will use the Amazon wishlist just as a source of intel -- others will buy from amazon because it's just easy.

Ann, that's a ferret.

(Could not think of a female Canadian sufficiently famous to make this a nationalist FCM.)

Anne Murray?

What makes a latte a latte? It's more than just adding milk, right? Is it more than adding hot or steamed milk? Why do I pay a gazillion dollars for Coffee Bean's (delicious) tea lattes? What magic are they working, and how can I duplicate it, but with less sugar (turns out the unsweetened latte I had the once was a weird thing they did for me on a one-time basis)?
