Then today I looked at the Daily To-Do and the party has been taken off the list. So I guess... I don't get a party after all?

That sucks, Kate. You'd better get that party! I'll be grumpy on your behalf if they called it off with nary a word.

In mememe news, I'll listening to the blues and desparately trying not to bitchslap my clients and my account executives. Or my coworker who put in his two weeks, and thus keeps taking random days off to use up his (deserved, but still!) personal and vacation time before he leaves. Like today.

Is this something where you can just show up to the place and sit around sullenly until someone makes amends?

It was just going to be in our office, or possibly in the lunchroom. I suppose I could be sullen at lunch.

Maybe they just moved the meeting and forgot to update the list?

Nope, I just checked with the co-worker who keeps the daily list. There's an office-wide (i.e. not just our dept.) holiday lunch party on Friday, and apparently my boss decided that would be "enough".

Eh. I'm not really upset about it, but I still think it was poorly handled. Plus, now I have to buy my lunch today!

Good luck. I'm trying to concentrate on work and not think about my totally miserable home life. Well crap, I just blew it.

hi, Suela! Are you able to go on b.org from work again?

Apparently; looks like they turned off the monitoring for a bit. They do that periodically when they're having network issues. I probably shouldn't be here, but here I am.

Hmm, very odd. I'm trying to print a 5-page spreadsheet to PDF. The first 4 pages show up, but the 5th won't, and then I get some weird error from the printer.

shrift, I'm sorry about today's badness.

apparently my boss decided that would be "enough".

Don't you deserve your own cake?

{{Gud}} I wish there were anything I could do to make things easier. You certainly deserve all the best.

Oh, Gud, I'm sorry.

About upthread's flowers discussion: I have to admit that, like ita, I'd totally do the flowers for myself. I love flowers and I rarely think to buy them for myself.

If you think about flowers as decoration rather than an expression of deep personal commitment, the service sounds pretty nice.

Kate, that party thing sucks. (Although I had my birthday "party" at the staff team-building exercise on Saturday, so.) You deserve your own party. But then you're leaving anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter to them how they treat you. Pfft.

Suela, when was your birthday (it's not on the Buffista Calendar)?

Aw, Gud, that sucks. At least when I leave the office at the end of the day, I don't have to deal with these people until the next morning.

This isn't helping me not want to hurt them, however. Maybe I ought to switch back to punk...
