Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Quick poll: Good idea or not?

Yes, if buying flowers for your sweetie is just something on your relationship obligations checklist. But then you are lame.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I blew a fuse this morning. While I was in the shower. There were no spare fuses of the right type in the basement. Flatmate is at home right now, peeing in the dark (if she does pee in the next couple of hours). She is too busy to go out and find new fuses, so I will have to do ti on my way home.

I think electricity hates me.

Quick poll: Good idea or not?

I think it might work for a while, but I think sooner or later, especially if you are too busy to pick up a phone and send flowers yourself, it'll get figured out. And what if the flower place remembers her birthday, but you still forget?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I like it. Because I basically buy this argument:

Women love getting flowers. They also know you well enough to recognize you are busy and may not be great at stuff like this, and the fact you are finally taking control and making an effort is a big, big deal.

Doing something once that means multiple nice things for me is A-OK.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Good idea or not

I can imagine it might be a good idea, for certain couples, but I doubt that the execution lives up to the idea. Can a corporation send out bunches of these things and still make them seem spontaneous?

Somebody's coffee grinder set off the fire alarms.

Luckily, it was before I got in. I'll bet a whole bunch of people are pissed with that person for making them stand out in 15 degree air for half an hour.

I have a crick in my neck. I really need to get another pillow, since the damn cat seems to insist on taking the good one and STILL using my head as a pillow.

Swouncing

I think Felicity Huffman and Marcia Cross are very good. That good? Better than all but three other women out there? I don't watch enough comedy to be sure. Longoria and Hatcher have nothing special going for them.

ita, are the first two the tired-mother-of-four and the perfect-housekeeper-whose-hair-doesn't-move? I got to watch a few episodes of that show (a friend of a friend taped it from a cables channel), surprisingly enough. [Edit: meaning, if it's them, then I agree with you. I'm just horrible with names, both of actors and of characters.]

Jesse, good luck with both the paper and the presentation.

Well, yes - if you consider a random number generator able to produce "spontaneous" results. But really, they should key it off the only truly random thing we know of - atomic decay of atoms.

I agree with Sue. It's a good idea until you get found out as a lame-o.

If the cat is dead, send flowers in his stead.
