Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

We are pretty good, Nilly. I am wildly underslept. But at least the semester is almost over. Oh, and we have a new car!

at least the semester is almost over

When is it completely over, and how much grading will you have to do until then?

Oh, and we have a new car!

Now I want to say that word that doesn't exist in English that congratulates people on their new thing.

Our wings are not tired.

New car! Shiny! Both of mine have over 100,000 miles, but I still like them so I can't justify doing anything new.

Yikes Nilly. I'm sorry about the computer issues. Have you become a compulsive backer upper in response? Unreliable computer and no stove. Yuck, this is not good.

Poor ita. Responsibility without control sucks.

I was up at 6:30 on a day off. How wrong is that? I've already done 3 loads of laundry. Now for some more on line shopping. I really need to find inexpensive XLT stuff.

Have you become a compulsive backer upper in response?

I've always been a sort of that. The problem is, I don't have access now to the backup. I do have, though, a large dose of whine.

Unreliable computer and no stove. Yuck, this is not good.

At least there is a fridge. It could be (and was) quite worse, and smellier, and not in the good sense.

I was up at 6:30 on a day off. How wrong is that?

You deserve to do something fun for yourself this morning.

[Edit for the correct number of "ss" in "access"]

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Timelies, folks.

My plan for today: grade homeworks, work out, buy bras and jeans (in new smaller size!), clean apartment. I'm not sure I've got enough awake hours for all of that, so the apartment probably will not get cleaned.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Quiet day here for me. G's going in to work shortly.(This after spending 6+ hours at work yesterday. And it looks like he'll have to go in to work next weekend as well. Sigh...) At least G's dad is taking us out for dinner tonight.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Nilly, what is the word that doesn't exist in English for "congrats on your new thing"? Just curious.

what is the word that doesn't exist in English for "congrats on your new thing"?

You take the adjective that means "new" (Khadash), and you put it into one of the verb structures, the one that describes something that the subject does to themselves (like, dressing yourself up is a different form of verb than just "dress" or "being dressed". They all come from the same root, but the first is "hitlabesh", the second is "lavash" and the third is "hoolbas"). So when you congratulate somebody on getting something new, you say "titkhadesh!" (for a male, or "titkhadshi!" for a female, or "titkhadshoo!" in the plural).

Once, with erinaceous, I tried to translate it as something like "newify", but I'm still not sure how it may work.
