That was one of the most compelling of all the flashbacks we've seen, IMO, right up there with Jin's and the first Michael one.
It's one of the few where I wouldn't have minded seeing more flashback scenes and a little less island.
WROD. Best backstory yet. I loves me some Eko.
That was the first episode I've seen since Ana Lucia first captured Michael, Sawyer, and Jin, so I appreciated the clip show intro.
Eko is NOT A NICE MAN. He is, however, really interesting. His question to his brother as to whether he should repent of killing the old man when they were boys is an interesting one.
Charlie, Charlie, Charlie. Bad boy, Charlie!
‘LOST’ FANS STILL ON SEASON ONE SUE HAWAII POLICE
Lawsuit seeks $350 million in damages for “cruel spoiler activities”
Hollywood – A group of fans have filed a class action lawsuit against the Oahu, Hawaii Police Department for arresting “Lost” stars Cynthia Watros and castmate Michelle Rodriguez on drunk driving charges. The fans who filed the suit had not yet watched any episodes from season 2, when Watros and Rodriguez were introduced into the drama. “These fans were still deeply enthralled with season 1 on DVD and were blindsided by media reports of these ‘Lost’ stars being arrested in Hawaii,” said the fans’ attorney Samuel Tallmun. “It was a massive spoiler to reveal these actors are in the show, and we blame the police department for creating such a tragic consequence.”
Both actresses were driving separate cars when they were arrested Dec. 1 within 15 minutes of each other. Watros, 37, plays Libby on the ABC hit castaway drama. Rodriguez plays the intriguing Ana Lucia. “Lost” is filmed in Hawaii. Police said both women failed field sobriety tests and were released on $500 bail each.
“I was halfway through the first season of ‘Lost’ on DVD when I saw the actresses’ photos in the newspaper,” said 39 year old Michael Danvers who is part of the class action lawsuit (case number 4815162342). “At first I though it was the girl Kate from the show or something. But then I looked closer and had no idea who these women were.”
The lawsuit seeks $350 million in damages for “cruel spoiler activities” and “pain and suffering.”
“With their arrests, the whole thing was ruined for me. Suddenly I knew there would be two new characters on the show,” added Danvers. “My mind went crazy trying to figure out who they are. Were they passengers living on the island? We just thought that there was only a French woman on the island. But to find out about these extra women was shocking. I mean, how could the Hawaii police department do this to us?”
“Our officers did what they had to do,” said Oahu Police Chief Ku`u Maka Po`okela. “Both women appeared to be intoxicated and they were arrested. That’s the end of the story.”
When asked if he was a fan of “Lost,” Chief Po`okela said the show never caught his imagination. “I’m more of a ‘24’ fan. This year is going to be intense because everyone thinks Jack Bauer is dead, but we know that he’s actually living in Mexico.”
“With this television climate of dramas that are filled with secrets and mysteries, police officers should use better discretion when it comes to arresting celebrities,” said attorney Samuel Tallmun. “They were well aware that thousands of fans were still getting through season 1, and, yet, the irresponsible officers still went ahead with their arrests.”

*snerk*
"tragic consequence."
Huh. I'm thinking somebody doesn't know the meaning of tragic, maybe.
I was lead to the report via a google link that led to a discussion thread on the E!Online forums. If you read the other stories on the "Dateline Hollywood" site, I'd be very surprised to learn there is even a grain of truth to the story.
eta: Funny, though.

OK. Much happier that the story was a spoof. Yep, funny.
Given how Charlie's Catholic issues just got pinged
big
time and he's been kicked to the curb by Claire, I can envision him becoming Eko's disciple.
Yeah, it's a satire site. [link]

Anne, absolutely. And, especially with Michael joining the Cult of Locke, it helps maintain the balance. I'd say that I'm looking foward to the big Locke vs. Eko creepy-gravitas-off, but I'm thinking that's not going to be coming real soon.
Yay! Eko DOES have shades of Adebisi.
I really wish during his badass period they'd had him in a jaunty hat, but oh well...
