I didn't think he was shot. Was he?

Ben shot at him and he flopped over real good, just like he'd been shot or something, so I assumed he was?
Who called that Ben was going to try to kill Penny?
Mememe! Though surely I wasn't the only one.
WTF is up with the new Losties going on about "what's in the shadow of the statue"? Are they going "crazy" like Rousseau's peeps? Is the statue the giant four-toed dude? Maybe that temple is what's in the shadow?

This is what I currently believe.
BTW, did I miss a scene in "Lost" - when did Ben try to kill Desmond? I have the ep still, can someone give me a clue as to when in the ep this took place? My tv feed cut out for a bit, but I thought I had only missed a commercial, maybe I missed more than that...
Did you see where Ben was menacing Penny? It was just before that. It happened very quickly.
dammit. okay, I gotta look for the ep online. I don't have ANY of this recorded in my tv ep.
Yeah, it was super fast. Ben comes up to the boat and Desmond comes up behind him and Ben shoots him and then menaces Penny, etc.
I bet Des was just playing dead.
I was laughing at some of the stuff in this week's episode: laughing with delight that it's crazy but it also makes sense. Plus: Egyptian god on the wall of the cave of Lostzilla!
I bet Des was just playing dead.
To me, it looked like that bag of groceries absorbed a lot of the impact. He might have had a surface injury, but nothing that would prevent him from kicking Ben's ass up and down that dock.
I guess it's a good thing that Desmond chose that day to buy a titanium-steel cookpot in the grocery's home goods section, then.
I missed Desmond getting shot at! I just watched the ep again.
Okay, so it is clear that Desmond falls over, but he isn't bleeding.
