Perhaps one of Sayid's criteria for falling in love with a woman is the amount of potential grief and suffering she represents for him. From the sample of two so far, that might certainly be the case.

I'm trying to figure out the purpose behind the missing bit of film. Who would go through the effort to remove part of the film, splice it back together and leave it in the hatch, and then hide the removed film in a bible in a different hatch on the other side of the island? If you don't want people to see that part of the film, for whatever reason, you'd destroy it.
If the Others removed the section because they wanted to disable the security, why didn't they simply kill whoever was in the hatch while they were in there (since they'd have to be in the hatch in order to remove a chunk of the film in the first place) and just let the timer run out or monkey with the terminal or whatever happened that allowed Michael to type at the terminal outside of the 4-minute window?
I'm equally confused Kalshane. It feels like they're supposed to find the missing piece and splice it together, but I don't know why.
Bad girls with the DUI. They need to get themselves a designated driver because I enjoy them both.
That, and the missing film didn't actually contain any new information. It was essentially just "Oh and by the way, we REALLY mean it about not using the computer. OR ELSE!!!!!!" Which made a nice background soundtrack to Michael using the computer, but I'm not sure why it was so important.
Had the filmstrip already mentioned that they shouldn't use the computer for other purposes? I didn't remember that, so I thought it was new information.

Maybe their purpose isn't to kill the people on the island? We don't have any idea what they want with the people they've taken.

It was cut off mid-sentence ("You must not use the computer for anyth-"), but I thought the meaning came through clearly enough. That using it for other purposes might "trigger another incident" was new, I guess, but so what, if we don't know what the first incident was?
I was assuming that the Incident had something to do with the Others, and they didn't want people communicating with them in case it led to another Incident.
It seemed that the clip was to give them ideas -- except Michael didn't need ideas.
Now everyone knows explicitly that he did a bad bad thing.

Ah. I think I missed the last bit just before it cut off, then, because I assumed he was about to say something along the lines of "Don't use the computer to automatically enter the numbers for you."
When is the next new episode?
