Anya: Are you stupid or something? Giles: Allow me to answer that question with a firing.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

That, and the missing film didn't actually contain any new information. It was essentially just "Oh and by the way, we REALLY mean it about not using the computer. OR ELSE!!!!!!" Which made a nice background soundtrack to Michael using the computer, but I'm not sure why it was so important.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Had the filmstrip already mentioned that they shouldn't use the computer for other purposes? I didn't remember that, so I thought it was new information.

If the Others removed the section because they wanted to disable the security, why didn't they simply kill whoever was in the hatch while they were in there

Maybe their purpose isn't to kill the people on the island? We don't have any idea what they want with the people they've taken.

It was cut off mid-sentence ("You must not use the computer for anyth-"), but I thought the meaning came through clearly enough. That using it for other purposes might "trigger another incident" was new, I guess, but so what, if we don't know what the first incident was?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I was assuming that the Incident had something to do with the Others, and they didn't want people communicating with them in case it led to another Incident.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It seemed that the clip was to give them ideas -- except Michael didn't need ideas.

Now everyone knows explicitly that he did a bad bad thing.

Ah. I think I missed the last bit just before it cut off, then, because I assumed he was about to say something along the lines of "Don't use the computer to automatically enter the numbers for you."

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, the cut film bit could have been more informative. Why would someone want to separate and hide that bit? If you were going to go to the trouble of splicing, you'd think you would have cut out the "do not use.." bit, too.

Also, shirtless DDK!

Also, happy Bernard & Rose!

Also, Kate's backstory isn't great to me. Oh, well.

when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

Since I knew this was going to be the last new episode till January, I'm amazed that they actually showed us what was in the extra bit of film; I fully expected to be left hanging. So despite the actual revelation being underwhelming, I was glad to just *get* one.
