I am the fly who dreams of the spider

mainly because it doesn't involve Kate

There is definitely this. Even when he was with her romantically, there was always this push-pull of hidden emotions and agendas that was frankly annoying. The scenes between Juliet and Sawyer, the ones that made me start shipping them, it was just clean quiet respect, no frills, no doubting. It was, I dunno, mature? Bullshit-free?

What is even happening?

I'm really liking Sawyer and Juliet together. I was hoping to see this.

I like the smirking and sass. could explain why i don't like the pairing.

I just felt like he was more at ease (all around, not because -- or not just because of Juliet). He has a bed to sleep in, real food, coffee, he's working and working a really long con. He's got some normalcy back.

How old is Ben supposed to be? He hit the island at age 11. Is he really 50+? I thought he was supposed to be younger than that. Like he would have hit the island around now (mid- to late-70s) as an 11-year-old.

Yeah, le nubian, you're right. He was born in the early 60s and came to the island at 11. I had my times all off. It seems likely he'll show up in the 1977 timeline.

Yeah, it's definitely not Ben. Or Charlotte. I can't figure out who it might be. It has to be someone important because that baby exists because of Sawyer and Juliet's intervention.

and

The Lostpedia theorists are kicking around Jacob (however, they think everything is Jacob.) A little theory a friend of mine is kicking around is that it's Ethan, and he gets kidnapped by the Others?

It may be more significant because it's the first/last/only (???) birth of a child conceived on the island, it might tie into that whole thing, it might change whatever weirdness was causing that.

I'm just talking here!

If Juliet and Sawyer actually changed things, I don't know how the baby could be anyone we've seen. If they didn't -- if somehow, Amy wouldn't have gotten killed by the Others and wouldn't have died giving birth, regardless of Juliet's presence -- then it could be anyone the right age. I would think Ethan was older too, but I have no clue how old, so maybe not. I do think Jacob's a decent guess.

Des must be older than 27, right?

Topic!Cindy -- Happy belated birthday! Loving the recaplets at TWOP. The format for the recaps (feels like 4 sentences/page)leaves me cold but I have enjoyed the ones I've read.

Narrator! Hi. Thanks you for the birthday wishes. I'm glad you're liking the recaplets. The pagination of the recaps drives me nuts, too. Some of it is choice (pages hits/ads) but some of it is the software. I've had a couple of times where there's been a ridiculously short page and brought it to the editorial staff's attention, but it's something the software forces. They can't change it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

The little bit we sort of saw of Jacob, he looked a bit like Horace, didn't he?

Eta: I think what I'm remembering is Hurley's glimpse in the cabin, which could have been Horace himself, I suppose, but at the time I thought it was supposed to be Jacob

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I just watched last night's episode, and I swear it's like a dare for them (eta: "them" being the writers/creators). Just when I think they couldn't make the show more confusing, they fling the Remainders (Sawyer, Juliet, et al.) back to 1974, make them live through 3 years of the 70s (again!), and then apparently crash the plane into 1977.

At some point young!Ben is going to appear -- but adult!Ben was on the plane that crashed onto the island in 1977 so -- WTF, LOST? WTF?

Unless different passengers crashed into different points in time. Which wouldn't be any more weird than what's happening right now anyway.

I figured the Sawyer/Juliet thing would happen; I just didn't think I'd like it, or that it would happen in a way that seems so...mature, like someone said upthread. And then of course it gets all munged up.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Where the hell are Rose and Bernard? Are we supposed to assume they're dead?!

I figured they were back in whatever time the lostaways originally were in (2005?), wondering where Sawyer, et al. are.

Maybe it was the ankh and the vaguely Egyptian-looking statue, but I kept hearing that guy's name as "Horus"...

Or maybe it's all the Stargate I've been watching lately.

Art Crawl!!!

Oh, on TWOP there is a whole Ancient Egyptian cosmology theory - Horace is Horus, Richard Alpert is Ra and the statue is Anubis.

Okay, there is a sketch of a theory - but the ankh kinds of helps it along. Plus, the agelessness of Alpert.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I guess they got thrown way WAY back in that statue-era flash, because the well/shaft hadn't even been dug then.

It looked more like a "crown" such as the Easter Island statues wear in the glimpse we got of the faraway statue. Only about a thousand times bigger.
