Thus apparently explaining her need to turn "stepdad" into a charcoal briquette, whereas being a drunken abusive lout that beat her mother and put the moves on her wasn't enough motivation.WTF?
'The Girl in Question'
Lost 2: Tied to a Tree in a Jungle of Mystery

Matt, I think she just wasn't going to let the little technicality of him being her actual biological father get in the way of freeing her mother from him.
I haven't rewatched that episode of Lost, and it's been a long time since it aired, but wasn't it either shown or strongly implied the actual bio dad raped or otherwise molested Kate? It seems to me finding out he was her bio dad, and that he'd known he was her bio dad, coupled with her desire to free her mom, probably explains her decision to blow him up.
I don't recall any hints of molestation. I came away from that episode thinking that she killed her biodad =because= he was her biodad and she couldn't stand the thought that he was part of her.
Lame, but there you go.
no, there was definitely hints that he'd molested her. the scene where she's taking his boots off when he comes home drunk as skunk is what gave me the impression.
Kate's adoptive dad seemed to think finding out she was biologically related to The Exploding Bed Guy would be the tipping point that pushed her from snarky to murderous.
At least back then when she wanted someone dead, she didn't take half measures. I think her chosen method would have finished off anyone on television except Clark fromSmallville.
Come, Kevin, and I will comfort you in my bosom. And by that I, of course, mean porn.
Best. Forum. Evah!
I finally watched the episode tonight. That is all.
I kept thinking there was something I should be watching at 9 last night....
Daybreak? Medium?
