Lost 2: Tied to a Tree in a Jungle of Mystery
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
And Jin -- laughing and laughing at Hurley beating up Sawyer. . . that image of Sawyer crawling out of the collapsed tent and then being dragged back into it?
Hilarious!
I was going to post pretty much that exact statement! I laughed and laughed as much as Jin (especially at the dragged back part).
The doctor was the creepy senator from X-Men. I've seen him in a couple other things as well.
Also the original WILLARD so he cornered the creepy market years ago.
Maybe because Libby gives me the creeps and I'd been assuming she was an Other all along.
Well, there looks to be good reason for the creepifying at least.
I note Harold Parrineau is still in the main cast credits and it's been how many weeks now since he's been seen (granted, with the hiatuses, it might be less than I'm thinking)?

I've just watched what we had of it, now. Our recording starts just as the doctor is telling Hurley that maybe Dave wants Hurley to stay fat, since even when Hurley was catatonic, he ate constantly. Then he showed Hurley the photo of with his arm around nobody. Then Dave slapped Hurley awake, and Hurley ended up locking him out of the hospital, and deciding he must be a delusion. We saw from this point, all the way to the end.
What I did see was good.
The Libby/Hurley romance seemed kind of forced to me, especially the last scene on the cliff.
The scene didn't come off as forced to me, but I don't think the romance is genuine on Libby's part. When they walked away from the cliff, and Hurley asked if she thought he really could change, and she said yes, she fell a step or two behind him, and the look on her face was part disgust and part something very creepy/vindictive.
At least to me. And then it cut away to her in the hospital, so I'm thinking there's definitely something off there, since she looked like a spaced out complete loon.
So glad our Hugo's not gone, though. I love me some Hurley.

Yes, this. I absolutely loved Sawyer getting his ass kicked, especially by Hurley. I mean, I like Sawyer, but he definitely deserved the ass-kicking. And I noticed Hurley seemed to be rattling off every nickname Sawyer has called him while he was beating the crap out of him.

That's where I knew him from. It was driving me nuts.
I'm not sure I'm buying the Hurley/Libby romance either, though if they were in the hospital together, it's possible she noticed him there at some point.
This ep was awesome and I am 100% convinced that Libby is evil. I actually thought she was going to push him off the cliff at the end.
But then again, I am apparently the only person who doesn't think she's pretty, so YMMV.

I think she looked better in this episode than she has in all the previous ones, but she doesn't do anything for me either. t /shallow
She's just weird-looking, all lopsided and droopy eyes. I dunno, I find something about her very off-putting and I thought that ever since we first met her, even before the whole washing machine conversation convinced me she was not what she seemed.
How excellent was Dave? I loved him for no other reason than that he was Harry on Sex & the City. And his casting to me was a great example of taking a "normal" actor and making them seem scary. With "Henry" and to some extent Libby, it doesn't matter what they say because I don't believe for a minute that they're NOT Others.
Loved how creepy it was when Dave was standing there grinning at Hurley in the jungle. And pointing out all the "coincidences" on the island? I was cracking up.

Glad it wasn't just me.

Who I'll always remember as Shrug from a show I'm totally memfaulting on the name of but was trying to be an LA version of SEINFELD and starred Chris Eigeman (sp?) and Jennifer Grey as herself.

Yeah -- I haven't quite made up my mind about whether it was supposed to come off like that, or if Libby's just not a very good actress. It's hard to tell, since we didn't really get to know her before.
And when someone you're starting a tentative romance with asks if they can change, the correct answer is not an unqualified Yes! It's "Yes, but don't change too much, because there are some things I really like about you." Bitch. It's Joey/Pacey all over again.
