If a doctor visit leaves me feeling humiliated and like I never want to see a doctor again, I should write a letter to my HMO, correct?

Hell, yes.
I should write a letter to my HMO, correct?
Y'damn skippy. Is it your regular PCP or a specialist? Me, I wrote to the doctor I'd seen and cc'ed the insurance company and my PCP. Okay, not much came from it, but I felt better.
Okay, not much came from it, but I felt better.

Did your doctor treat you better the next time?
Well, since I was writing about how poorly I'd felt I was being treated by her office staff and that I felt my time had been wasted by not one but two appointments at which nothing happened, I actually went ahead and got another specialist. Allyson, is it a group practice? Can you switch doctors? DH did this--and made sure to tell the doctor why he was switching.
Definitely, Allyson.
msbelle, I hope you get safely to wherever you're going.

Strange definition of "allies", there.
Can you switch doctors?
Yep! I was on hold for awhile but it turns out that yes, I can switch doctors and if I'd like to file a complaint, I can do so by phone, writing, or in person. I choose in person.
I'm mad at myself for being too discombulated to say anything at the time it was happening.
