Happy Birthday Amych!!!

article that makes fun of the "Left Behind" movies - for their low-budgetness:
In Left Behind 2: Tribulation Force, for example, Kirk Cameron has to take Ben Judah, a respected rabbi, to the Wailing Wall so that he can tell Jews everywhere that Jesus Christ is Lord. Israel is represented by a few stone walls obviously made of plywood, some Christmas-tree lights, and 500 volunteer extras wearing leftover costumes from a Nativity pageant. The Wailing Wall is patrolled by soldiers dressed in World War II army uniforms. The producers have also dubbed in the sound of goats during scenes set in downtown Jerusalem, which leads to the unusual notion that modern-day Israel is populated by WWII re-enactors, nervous-looking people in bathrobes, and goats.

Many Happy Returns of the Day, Amych!
I almost typed re-runs, but I think we've all seen that episode, and while it is usually entertaining, not something I'd wish on someone I liked.
Timelies all!
Happy Birthday Amych!
The Christine Lavin show last night was fun.(How could a show that ends with glow-in-the-dark baton twirling =not= be fun?)
Timelies, all! Thanks for the birthday wishes!
So far, birthday highlights are coffee, purring snuggly cat, and several sudoku.
Nilly, I haven't finished them!
In fact, the paper I just finished is the one on the culture of fear and democracy (and I threw in capitalism for a giggle).
I have one short paper to go and a plethora of topics from which to choose. I could write about anti-semitism, stastics of violence vs. perceptions of it, the movie Bowling for Columbine, Freeway shootings, reality tv as a proponent of fear.
I think I'm going to copy and paste in my mid term and shape that instead of writing something new. There is a question for this paper that is directly related to something else I've already written. So if I shape it, then I can be finished. Woudln't that be exciting?
OH! But writing about reality tv would be EASY. Even though if I did Bowling for Columbine, I have about 2 pages already written including the movie review I wrote for this class already.
Decisions, decisions.
Woudln't that be exciting?
How will you celebrate? You'd deserve some sort of celebration.
if I did Bowling for Columbine, I have about 2 pages already written including the movie review I wrote for this class already.
How easy would it be to write the rest of the number of pages you need for the paper?
Good morning, people.
Happy birthday, amych!
Disturbing link of the morning: Five year old mother (contains a picture of a naked and pregnant five year old). The human body is messed up, man. As are humans.
Well, the question is NOT exactly the same, so it would require going back and reshaping. And frankly, that seems more of a pain in the butt than just plowing ahead on a different topic. In some ways, writing something NEW would be, at least, more interesting in the short term and possibly filled with more learning.
Ugh. I don't want to learn right now. I want to breakfast and shop and decorate our christmas tree.
From ita's link (WHY DO I FOLLOW THEM?!"
an obstetrician who took an interest in Lina Medina's case and authored a book about her in 2002 said that Lina was a psychologically normal child, that she displayed no other unusual medical symptoms, and that she preferred playing with dolls rather than her own child.
This is just so... sad and interesting. It seems to make perfect sense that a 5 year old would rather play with dolls than her own child becuase dolls can be forced to do things, where, one thinks, Lina wasn't able to do as she pleased to the baby she bore.
