Anya: We should drop a piano on her. It always works for that creepy cartoon rabbit when he's running from that nice man with the speech impediment. Giles: Yes, or perhaps we could paint a convincing fake tunnel on the side of a mountain.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Happy birthday Amych!

Tom's snow pictures are better than mine. The camera phone doesn't like shooting through windows.

I can't get the face recognition thingy to work -- it goes through all the steps, and then gives me a blank page. I tried it in Safari, and it told me to go back to Firefox. Woe is me, for I have not been algorithmically compared to any celebrities today.

Tom, I love those pictures. Thanks for posting them! [Edit: and Jessica, too!]

Kat! You can! You can! You can!

Our wings are not tired.

Happy Birthday Amych!

Snow!

The Face Recognition thing is the good crack. My son Brendon gets Beyonce too. As manly as he is in his 12 yo photo [link] he gets all girl matches. When I put in a photo that I think looks like me I get Janica Kostelic, Anna Lindh, Kevin Spacey!, Gene Kelly!, and Ingmar Bergman! It looks like it picks up the dimples and goes from there.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Tom and Jessica, your pictures are provoking a profound sense of nostalgia and wishing for snow for me. Even though I can get to snow here by going to the mountains, it's not the same as seeing city streets covered.

Thanks, Nilly. I have about a page and a half left, which means even with internet breaks, I have written about 3 pages this past 40 minutes. Which means I can finish this before I go to breakfast.

Then I have one more short paper and an incredibly long paper to go. The short one is actually harder than the long one because the long one is planned and merely needs to be written, while the short one is of the SUCK!

Now tagless for your comfort.

First snow pictures are always so pretty. We've not got enough accumulation here to make it pretty. Just some sucky, freezing rain.

Time to buy some salt for the sidewalks.

That's impressive.

What's the short paper about? Did you finish all the papers you had to do during THanksgiving (I hadn't posted with you since)?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Happy Birthday Amych!!!

ION, a Slate article that makes fun of the "Left Behind" movies - for their low-budgetness:

In Left Behind 2: Tribulation Force, for example, Kirk Cameron has to take Ben Judah, a respected rabbi, to the Wailing Wall so that he can tell Jews everywhere that Jesus Christ is Lord. Israel is represented by a few stone walls obviously made of plywood, some Christmas-tree lights, and 500 volunteer extras wearing leftover costumes from a Nativity pageant. The Wailing Wall is patrolled by soldiers dressed in World War II army uniforms. The producers have also dubbed in the sound of goats during scenes set in downtown Jerusalem, which leads to the unusual notion that modern-day Israel is populated by WWII re-enactors, nervous-looking people in bathrobes, and goats.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Many Happy Returns of the Day, Amych!

I almost typed re-runs, but I think we've all seen that episode, and while it is usually entertaining, not something I'd wish on someone I liked.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday Amych!

The Christine Lavin show last night was fun.(How could a show that ends with glow-in-the-dark baton twirling =not= be fun?)

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Happy Birthday, Amych!
