Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Shit, I could totally get that pink Razr, and it would be so awesome! But I should spend my two hundred bucks on things like pants, since I suddenly don't seem to have a single pair of decent pants that fit.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Man, this plague is sweeping the globe. I hope you and all others feel better soon.

Earlier in the week I had a migraine-inducing phone meeting with people who seemed to have missed the entire point of the project we've been working on for months. I worried that I'd gotten too shrill, since the worker-bees's boss called me afterwards to try and smooth things over. But I think he was smoothing his side over.

I also worried that I had missed something obvious, because everyone else seemed so startled that I was trying to make a big deal over this discrepancy.

I'm on the follow up call now, including a rep from the group we're seeking certification from. He's all "Durr, of course you're right, ita." And the people who were being dumb are "Well, ita, it's your call. You're in charge."

Really? If only you'd believed that earlier this week.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

ita, when do you get your MRI results?

ita's so cute!

Blech, Matt. Sorry you're sick. I just kept hitting mine with OJ, cold meds and sleep until it succumbed to my will.

I had a content-free message left yesterday that I need to return. I have a strange suspicion their office is closed today, but I'll try as soon as this meeting's done and I've had a chance to buy breakfast.

eta: Cute??? When??? Where??

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Thanks guys. Lucky throat pain is the only symptom so far, so I'm still clearheaded and able to work sneeze- and cough-free. Surprising how much easier it is to function with a given amount of pain if it's not throbbing directly behind one's eyes. This weekend will likely be hibernation time, though.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Oh my god, I can't focus on anything today. Why am I still at work?

Someone just posted a notice to my school mailing list about a program in Buenos Aires in May/June that would totally rock. I just emailed to her to ask about how to apply. It would probably mean I'd have to get a part-time job this spring to pay for it, but shit, that's SO worth it.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

See, I'd much rather be sneezing and coughing than have a sore throat. Sore throat drives me nuts.
