Man, this plague is sweeping the globe. I hope you and all others feel better soon.
Earlier in the week I had a migraine-inducing phone meeting with people who seemed to have missed the entire point of the project we've been working on for months. I worried that I'd gotten too shrill, since the worker-bees's boss called me afterwards to try and smooth things over. But I think he was smoothing his side over.
I also worried that I had missed something obvious, because everyone else seemed so startled that I was trying to make a big deal over this discrepancy.
I'm on the follow up call now, including a rep from the group we're seeking certification from. He's all "Durr, of course you're right, ita." And the people who were being dumb are "Well, ita, it's your call. You're in charge."
Really? If only you'd believed that earlier this week.
ita, when do you get your MRI results?
ita's so cute!
Blech, Matt. Sorry you're sick. I just kept hitting mine with OJ, cold meds and sleep until it succumbed to my will.
when do you get your MRI results?
I had a content-free message left yesterday that I need to return. I have a strange suspicion their office is closed today, but I'll try as soon as this meeting's done and I've had a chance to buy breakfast.
eta: Cute??? When??? Where??
Thanks guys. Lucky throat pain is the only symptom so far, so I'm still clearheaded and able to work sneeze- and cough-free. Surprising how much easier it is to function with a given amount of pain if it's not throbbing directly behind one's eyes. This weekend will likely be hibernation time, though.
Oh my god, I can't focus on anything today. Why am I still at work?
Someone just posted a notice to my school mailing list about a program in Buenos Aires in May/June that would totally rock. I just emailed to her to ask about how to apply. It would probably mean I'd have to get a part-time job this spring to pay for it, but shit, that's SO worth it.
Also, get-well wishes to all you sick people! ita, I hope you get your results soon.

See, I'd much rather be sneezing and coughing than have a sore throat. Sore throat drives me nuts.
Heh, went to the doctor today to complain about my aches and pains (of which there are quite a few), and got a prescription for Flexeril. Which I'm crossing my fingers will be a Wonder Drug for what ails me....
I woke up with a horrible sinus headache, and it's definitely set the tone for today.
They had me in training for two hours this morning (oh my god, they're changing our work database, our timesheets, how we track our work, AND billing, I'm going to kill them all), and then they wanted me to go for a holiday luncheon for two hours.
You want me away from my desk half the day when my inbox is so overloaded I was getting downright (and embarrassingly) cranky with my boss this morning?
Riiiiight.
