Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

without realizing that pedophelia has a distinct pathology.
I'm just going to let Cash talk and stand behind her nodding a whole lot.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I can't see how can anyone see a connection between the two

I guess they'd have to ignore the pedophiles molesting young girls for starters. But then, that doesn't seem to make the papers as much as boys getting molested, even though I understand it to be considerably more common.

Always Anti-fascist!

I've got dyscalculia so math and I have a strained relationship...very sad. (And I was midway through college before I found out for real so I'm not sure what could've been done, but I'm sure it was not a loss to science.) Very surprised at the hot that was Dr. Green. I'd like to test his theories.(Actually, though, he'd talk to me for ten seconds before finding me completely dense, I think.)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

This morning I saw the headline on a local paper to the effect that the Vatican is going to ban all gay priests. I thought they were just going to ban sexually active gay priests. (Which still sounds bad, but they ban sexually active heterosexual priests too.)

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

This morning I saw the headline on a local paper to the effect that the Vatican is going to ban all gay priests.

Also, banning "people who support so-called gay culture". You don't even have to be gay to qualify.

Oh, that sucks. Guess I can't be a priest then.

Although I suppose I'm also excluded by the "no atheists" clause....

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

They are really working on, what seems to me, a Don't Ask policy. Priests can be celibately gay but only if they're not all that gay. If "gay" is how they primarily identify themselves, they are becoming pretty unwelcome.

the church will not admit to a seminary nor ordain "those who practice homosexuality, present deep-seated homosexual tendencies or support the so-called 'gay culture.' "

This directive is actually less restrictive than what was expected.

Does discussing HoYay online count as "supporting the so-called 'gay culture'"?

I'd think not, 'cuz usually the characters being HoYayified are not part of the so-called 'gay culture'....

They are getting strict on this one too. Apparently they only want priests who are "Catholic." Whatever.

Now tagless for your comfort.

They are really working on, what seems to me, a Don't Ask policy. Priests can be celibately gay but only if they're not all that gay

But if a priest goes into confession and confesses to lustful homosexual thoughts, can't that get him pretty much expelled from the priesthood? Even if he doesn't act on them?

This would exclude even celibate gay men from the clergy.
