Happy ritual sacrifice - with pie.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Now I'm trying to figure out when I will fit in my other Thanksgiving rituals. The listening to Alice's Restaurant and watching Pangs.

Laura, my compadre! I listened to Alice's Restaurant on the way to my cousin's house for dinner, and now that I'm back and utterly utterly stuffed full of excellent food, I'm about to put Pangs in the DVD player.

Ah, now we're watching Crime Dog. Life is good. A few of us walked the two blocks down to the beach and stood with our toesies in the ocean.

Happy T-day everyone!

Our wings are not tired.

I relaxed with Pangs between finishing my list and the guests arriving. It was quite fun. I hadn't seen it since last year. Willow was such a cutiehead.

They're all gone now, except one kid staying over. So much food. There were pictures still in camera. The guys are watching basketball and I'm going to curl up in bed and watch something as yet to be determined.

Goodnight all. I hope everyone celebrating or not had a lovely day.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I am just back from Thanksgiving with the family andam about to watch Pangs. Usually I watch it the morning of, but I woke up too late! In adition to our uaual ritual sacrifice with Trivial Pursuit, we have now added Texas Hold-em to our game playing reperatoire. Along with the ritual "Uncle makes fun of sophia and hurts her feelings" But this has come about every year for the past 32, so I know it is coming!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

JZ and I are returned from EM's house. Emmett will be dropped off in the morning and we'll probably go see Harry Potter again.

Everything was delish, and there were only minor snags in the day (smoke alarm going off every ten minutes until we aimed a fan at it; JZ's mom stumbling into a few faux pas). Emmett needs better table manners though - I realized he hardly ever eats at a table with guests though.

I dragged Emmett over to his school fields and we did another baseball tuneup to ready him for his tryouts in two weeks.

I'm groggy with tryptophan and champagne and food stupor.

Also, I am going to smack Sophia's uncle some day. I'm just randomly going to show up in upstate New York and give him a slap up the back of the head. "That's for the last 32 Thanksgivings. Stop being a jerk."

I don't want to be Superman. I want to stay little and be next to Mommy.

My brand-new birthday-present cloth napkins have been baptized in homemade cranberry sauce. Also, the children have covered me with reward stickers, although my husband did most of the cooking.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I downloaded Alice's Restaurant and brought it to my sister's house, cause my nieces had never heard it. Turns out my B-i-L has the original album, in vinyl! So cute. And I don't think I'd listened to the entire thing since about 1982. So that was fun.

I'm pretty much in an L-tryptophan coma, camped out in front of Into the Woods on the dvd player. Holidays make me in the mood for musicals.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I'm still full.

Gronk.

Cook's Illustrated brought down the house. The turkey and the sweet potato thing were both excellent.

As a result, I ate way too much.

Watched Gift of the Wheelman while we waited for the turkey, hung out with family, marvelled at how much of a cat person this kidlet is, went to Pete and Jilli's, where more cat person marvelling was had, as well as a nice bit socializing.

Now we are home. And I've had too much coffee. Buzz buzz.

Mmmmm...

Tom! Is that cranberry-orange relish on your plate? That's what I make!
