On Purim one usually sends foods to people. My mom usually makes several brands of special cookies, which are the yummiest things ever. However, she doesn't wrap everything with bows and ribbons and colored papers and the like, the way most people do. She always apologizes for that. She makes the yummiest things, and still feels like she's expected to prettify them.

Anne, I can never make any food look presentable. Yet my family always cheer when I am home to ice the cakes because they know my icing is good and there'll be lots of it.
