Allyson, Ruby will be fine. How long will you be gone?
Four days. She'll be terribly lonely.

you might need to get some lotion for your ass.
I'm at work. Several other offices here are closed so parking was easy peasy.
Must not go SHRIFT SMASH. Must not go SHRIFT SMASH. Must not let the bastards win.
Allyson, leave toys or toy-like things (a paper bag--Cat Heaven!) out for her to amuse herself with while you are gone. I might also leave the radio on a talk station.
I will work this afternoon, and it iwll be dull. and yup, I will work Friday, and it will be busy , but it will be all college students doing work, so no reall work. But at least on firday after work is the xmas parade and tree lighting here in Niles. it is a very small town parade, but with cool dancing horses. of course that is balanced by dogs wearing xmas lights.
All you Dallas haters make me sad.

Also crumpled-up aluminium foil. Yes.
I'm at work today. I'll be at work Friday. Mostly I'll be at work Friday because it gives me an excuse not to spend that day washing windows at my parents' place that doesn't come down to, "I don't want to. You have some money--hire someone." Which is my real reasoning, but doesn't parse into a happy Thanksgiving.
I'd be a lot more productive at work if my coworkers--who are scheduled to be here today, damn it--actually showed up so I could get the stuff they're supposed to do and use it to finish up my job before a) I leave for Thanksgiving or b) my head explodes.

Win schmin. Shrift Smash. It'll probably be good for your blood pressure and it'll serve 'em right.
I may be projecting a wee bit.
Allyson, do you need me to come by and play with Ruby once or twice?
I am enjoying the relative quiet of two kids playing. In a few short hours, there will be four children in the house, ages 7, 5, 2, and 7 months. All I'm planning on doing today is bake pumpkin bread, maybe make the creamed spinach, run a couple annoying errands on campus, and get my hair colored (if possible).
If it weren't for that third item, it'd be a stress-free day.
