I was convinced I was adopted. I look exactly like my Mother. But I was CERTAIN that one day they would tell me.
Me, too, Trudy! I, and 3 of my siblings, look so much alike our baby pictures get mixed up, but I was POSITIVE I was adopted.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

When I was a kid, I wondered if my whole reality (parents, siblings, fellow students) was all part of some elaborate scientific experiment on me. I figured that if this were true, I'd have no way of knowing. After thinking about it, I figured that it was probably not true, and since I could never know for certain, it made the most sense for me just to live my life as if it were not true.
(If you guys are all part of the experiment, you can tell me....)
Hee. I've told this before but I thought I could either be Prince Andrew's illegitimate daughter or Anastatia.

Tommyrot is me, except for the deciding it's probably not true part.
I also used to think that everyone in the world was telephatic except for me, and that you are all right now listening to my thoughts and making fun of me because I can't hear yours.
(I had a large and varied collection of tinfoil hats as a child, if you can't tell.)
I was convinced that my mother was a telepath. I asked her one day if she was, and she denied it with derision. "Of course that's what you'd say," I thought back at her.
Depends. Jade or emerald?
Maybe there are aliens in the lab helping to preserve your secret until the right moment.
kryptonite?

Yeah, I've heard it's a common fantasy/delusion/whatever-you'd-call-it.

Heh.
The Whole Foods vs. blue laws story makes me sad, because for many years it was one of the hallmarks of the local whole-foods-y chain that got swallowed by Whole Foods that they would always close on holidays in order to give their workers the day off, last-minute-shopper profits be damned.

That's pretty funny.
