Tommyrot is me, except for the deciding it's probably not true part.
Yeah, I've heard it's a common fantasy/delusion/whatever-you'd-call-it.
I was convinced that my mother was a telepath. I asked her one day if she was, and she denied it with derision. "Of course that's what you'd say," I thought back at her.
Heh.
The Whole Foods vs. blue laws story makes me sad, because for many years it was one of the hallmarks of the local whole-foods-y chain that got swallowed by Whole Foods that they would always close on holidays in order to give their workers the day off, last-minute-shopper profits be damned.

That's pretty funny.
Me, too, Trudy! I, and 3 of my siblings, look so much alike our baby pictures get mixed up, but I was POSITIVE I was adopted.
YES! And I wasn't even pissed about it or "I'm not your REAL child wah wah wah, you HATE me". I just wanted them to 'fess up and get it over with.

Or maybe it means we're all onto something...
When I was a kid, I wondered if my whole reality (parents, siblings, fellow students) was all part of some elaborate scientific experiment on me.
I used to think that my reality was some sort of elaborate movie set. The places I was at every day were real (home, school, etc.), but the stuff further away was fake. I thought that if the car would stop on some random road and I got out, I could see how everything was made up just for me.
I always wanted to know about the car on the road that was first in line. And where was that?
Blockbuster was open on Thanksgiving in Massachusetts. And on Christmas. I worked the entire day on xmas, as the lone Jew. And I felt AWFUL for the kids who got roped into working it as well.
Retail doesn't pay enough, especially on days like christmas, because most of the people shopping at the Blockbuster on xmas day? Complete asswipes.
