I'd try to be a little more politic when responding to the criticisms of the Jane Austen Society in North America
But! But! The swim in the lake scene was un-Austenlike tittilation! It was what people bitched about before (although most rightfully didn't because delicious wet Firth and a pretty lovely adaptation) there were boar bits to be mad about.
The boar? Is the new lake.
eta: God, I'm a loser.
Mine's a string of words, but there's one person on the planet other than me who might guess it in sequence. They can keep their numbers.
"They can go jump in a lake."
Good line. Old-fashioned. Sort of makes you wonder -- if
The Manchurian Candidate
were made today (I know they remade it already, shush), when the barkeep accidentally triggers Laurence Harvey with the cards, what happens if he says the modern equivalent to the above, to wit: go fuck yourself?
Sometimes my brain hurts.
The boar? Is the new lake.
It could be the hour (it's already tomorrow here), but I just love the way this sentence makes sense, and I don't care if that makes me any kind of loser.
The boar? Is the new lake.
Ooh, so are we thinking the retort was a reference to that? Cause that would be pretty cool.
connie, anyone with a password that doesn't have a number or non alphanumeric character in it gets that message
Mine's just words, but I have yet to get such a message. Maybe lj doesn't really care if anyone guesses my password.
Matt, I keep telling you, "ImpeachTheShrub" is not that hard to guess. Seriously, though.
so are we thinking the retort was a reference to that?
If it's not, I'm a
way
bigger loser than originally projected.
I just had to email people in NY to ask them to do something that a) I know how to do, and b) have time to do, but c) thanks to our lovely IT set up, spent 6 minutes on a pay per minute web site and still hadn't gotten to any page that would let me enter a search strategy.
Kind of hate that.
Not a loser, ita, because that was my first thought, too. Unless I'm a big loser as well? It's possible.
