Where do hair-metal bands fit in, in the dandy-->metrosexual continuum?
If they shower regularly and cook occasionally, metrosexual. Otherwise, dandy.

I dunno - I wouldn't rate the hair bands as a group. The New Romantics, otoh were straight dandy. So to speak.
For England, it's a little different: Dandy-->Teddy Boy-->Metrosexual. Or maybe Dandy-->Teddy Boy-->Glam-->Metrosexual.
my scale:
hair bands--------------------------------------------------------drag queens
in btw I think it'd go: glam boys then crossdressers then dandys then metrosexuals
just in terms of high maintenance.

Hair was cut into an outlandish DA (Duck's Ass), long jackets were juxtaposed with thin, bootlace ties, stovepipe pants were cut short to show off patterned socks - and the look was completed with suede brothel creepers or winkle-pickers.
What the heck are "brothel creepers"? "Winkle-Pickers"? Do I need them?

Of course, I'd have to figure out an outfit to wear with them.
