In the San Diego mayor's race, Republican Jerry Sanders, a former police chief, defeated surf shop owner Donna Frye, a Democratic city councilwoman who was denied the office last year after a court battle over a disputed election. Sanders will be the city's fourth mayor in the past year, amid a wave of political turmoil that has swept the nation's seventh-largest city.

The first time my dog Mac came into contact with a horse was pure comedy gold. It was like, "Whoa! What's this big thing here?"
That reminds me of Richard Pryor's bit about his dogs meeting a miniature horse. They ran up to greet it, thinking - "Hey! A dog!" then caught a whiff of horse-smell and stopped dead in their tracks, deeply flummoxed. They went into sniff and snuff mode to sort out the issue until one dog concluded, "I don't know what it is, but I'm gonna fuck it."
The horse took issue.
