Perkins!
Hmm, now this is a dilemma. On the one hand, I didn't get to post with you in a while, and I wonder how you're doing. On the other, I think (see a few posts above, re: Jewish mom) that sleep will be better for you than posting with me, so I feel morally obligated to at least try to convince you to get back to bed. What to do, what to do?
[Edit: my post # has the even digits, and in only a slightly confused order. It's like somebody woke them up in the middle of the night and asked them to stand in line, and they were so tired and sleepy that they messed it up. Poor little digits.]
Sorry you can't sleep Perkins.
Hi Nilly.
As usual I'm up in the middle of the night working. Tonight I'm editing music for an upcoming production of A Christmas Carol.
I know. It is hard to decide. I've been okay. Nothing very exciting, but nothing bad either.
How are you?
eta: Okay, that was annoying. My cable and internet just cut out for 5 minutes. I wonder if it always does that this time of the morning.
Hi, ND. Long time no post-together.
This morning really has a night shift.
an upcoming production of A Christmas Carol.
Do they have any sort of twist on the story, or play it like the original?
My cable just cut out for 5 minutes. I wonder if it always does that this time of the morning.
It reminds me the way Sara from "A Little Princess" was playing at wondering whether the toys do other things when she's not looking, and was jumping inside a room in order to catch them in the act. Only, you know, with cable and waking up and without any closed doors, so I'm not even sure why it reminded me of that, at all.
And now I wonder what your cats are doing when you're away. Threatening the cable not to cut out again, probably.
I firmly believe that the toys come out to play while we aren't looking. I also believe that the cats just sit in one place and shed while I am not here.
I think I am going to try the sleep thing again. I may "see" you when I wake up.
Night, Perkins.
I may "see" you when I wake up.
I've been trying to resist posting something like "Good night, Perkins. Good post. Sleep well. I'll most likely kill block you in the morning". I failed.

Nope, this is a very traditional version of the story. It's for South Coast Repertory and this year will mark the 26th season that they've done this show. Last year was my first year as the Sound Designer. We've been going through and cleaning up all the sound and such. This year we got new recordings made for all the music, so I've been doing the editing and file conversion on those tonight so that I'm ready to load them into the big playback system. Next I need to tackle all of the sound effects.

There are probably some fun ones there, what with all the spirits and the graveyards and the like.

Wow. Is it common to do the same show for so many seasons?

Specifically with Christmas shows. Folks make a tradition out of going to see the show and it becomes a real money maker for the theatre.
The community theater here does Christmas Carol every year and I never miss it. It is completely different each year. Outragiously funny and peppered with current events. The kids love it.
Well, I certainly have felt worse on the morning after elections. Here's hoping I feel this good next year.
