Nope, this is a very traditional version of the story. It's for South Coast Repertory and this year will mark the 26th season that they've done this show. Last year was my first year as the Sound Designer. We've been going through and cleaning up all the sound and such. This year we got new recordings made for all the music, so I've been doing the editing and file conversion on those tonight so that I'm ready to load them into the big playback system. Next I need to tackle all of the sound effects.

Specifically with Christmas shows. Folks make a tradition out of going to see the show and it becomes a real money maker for the theatre.

The community theater here does Christmas Carol every year and I never miss it. It is completely different each year. Outragiously funny and peppered with current events. The kids love it.

I wonder if parents can have their kids step out into the hall when they make Intelligent Design remarks, like the parents who don't want their kids hearing about sex ed in Health class? If I had a kid in school in Kansas, I'd be throwing a screaming fit.

It's refreshing not to be a seething ball of rage or stuck in a fetal position on the couch after an election.

I just went to look at the results. David had posted the earlier ones. boy I am happy i woke up. Every single proposition failed. and although there is one I would have liked to have seen pass - i still think that every single propsition was 1) too complex for a yay/ nay vote and 2) a special election was not needed at this time.

I had to come into work at 7:00 am to log in the results for various ballot issues into our database (so the lawyers can write stories on the results before 10:00). This meant that I was up at 5:20 (I set the alarm for 5:45, but my body was freaked out about sleeping in, so it woke me up early instead), but since I was up, I brought in donuts for everyone. Now, everyone is asking me if it's my birthday, which it definitely is not--I just felt like bringing them in.

Good thing about this is that I'm taking off at 3:00--yay!
