It's good to have cargo. Makes us a target for every other scavenger out there, though, but sometimes that's fun too.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My standards: pretty, in a nice color, and can be Rorshached funnily on 3am.

I can totally do that!! Stupid PhD supervisor.

Stupid PhD supervisor.

Well, in the name of the truth, I have to say that he's not stupid. Extremely far from stupid. He just, well, doesn't evaluate the well-colored nicely-Rorshached elements of graphs the way we do. Of course, his way gets publications and lectures and grants' money for research, so he has a strong case, too.

Oh, did I ever tell you about the lecturer in the conference in which each speaker got to have only 5 minutes to speak, and no instruments for showing any sort of graphs? He really wanted to present a certain graph, he managed to work out how to do it in the short time of the lecture, but the organizers refused to provide the equipment. So his wife knitted him a sweater with the graph as a sample, on all of the front, and he used that when he spoke.

Well, you certainly taught that cat a lesson she won't soon forget.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

yay - we had a bunch of people for the hose concert last night and some Ideas on how to make the next one better.yay. the 'down' side of the house concert. I had to apple cake and deb's cinnamon cake for lunch.

I still need to put the house back to gether - but a house concert is less stressful than a party. I think because the entertainment is there.

Our cat is getting better about large groups. He was a bit pissed off that I made him stay in the bedroom while most of the people were here, but he is unpredictable. However, he was well behaved when we let him out his behavior is improveing.

my dog story. we had a great golden retrevier growing up. She took lot of abuse from 3 little girls that tried to ride her, put sweatshirts on her , and used her as a pillow. But we had one neighbor that she hated/feared. He would occassionaly shoot birds in his backyard - and my dog hated/feared that sound. She would growl at him whenever he came over. even the best dogs have a line.

I have friends with a pit - and Molly i sa good dog. But she needs some obedience training 1) she likes to jump to greet - not to many people are happy with large dogs that do that - make it a pit - and it is worse. DH won't go near her when she is like that. 2) she is too strong for physicla force to be an option for control the 12 yr old daughter has to sit on the ground (while holding the leash) to keep the dog from running after a cat.

I like dogs - part of me would love to have a dog. But dogs require a lot more attention and consistancy of behavior that I know I'm not really up for it now.

That is AWESOME.

And I'm sure your advisor is very smart and all that, but sometimes you need pretty and fun more than you need actual, you know, information.
