move out and draw fire

anyone mention Coalinga yet?

I thought about mentioning COWalinga, I really did. But then I also thought of the paper plant in Antioch, and the meat packing plant where I grew up, and seized up.

dang, paper plants must REALLY stink.

More than you could ever believe, especially given that cut wood smells pretty good.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Does anyone know anything about electricity usage? I haven't paid gas and electric since 1995, so I can't remember what is normal.

Last month (October) my electricity usage went from 168 and 184 in the months previous to 559kwh. Is that a lot for a one bedroom apartment with a gas hot water heater, electric stove and gas heat. I have one small tv, and 2 computers. I often fall asleep with the tv on, but I did that in August, September and October too.

Also, is 7 therms of gas "normal" for just a hot water heater on?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sure, until it dies.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Last month (October) my electricity usage went from 168 and 184 in the months previous to 559kwh.

I think that would only be normal if you had electric heat, or did a heck of a lot of baking.

Is your electric meter strictly for your apartment, or is it possible it's measuring other circuits, like the basement? (At my old apartment, the basement and exterior lights went through my circuit panel, so I paid for them. Since I made far more use of the basement, it was fair.)

Also, sometimes utilities estimate bills between visits, and they may have underestimated the last two months (or overestimated this month, but that seems less likely).

Why would someone eat a limburger cheese sandwich?

Don't ask me. This is the man who's too picky to try Chinese or Japanese food when I'm ordering take-out. Though I suspect his German best friend and the enormous quantities of alcohol they consumed may have played a part.

Sophia, I'll have to look at my bills when I get home, but the direction of the change seems totally counterintuitive, unless you've been baking more or something. Can you go read your meter and actually compare to the reading on the bill? BGE sometimes did an estimate, and it got all fucked up at one point.

Well, hopefully it is not measuring the basement, as I have no access to it (the other tenant does.) I am just afraid the whole damn thing is miswired and I am paying for part of her electricity (since this seems to coincide with the downstairs person moving in). We are also supposed to have completely separate hot water, but strangely, I can feel a drop in the hot water pressure if we are both taking a shower (in our respective apartments) at the same time.

I'll check out the meter, though...
