sj, sometimes it helps to give yourself permission to write a sucky paper. Just start writing. If you feel like it's crap, tell yourself it's okay for a first draft to be crap, and just keep writing. Your thoughts sometimes start to organize themselves, once you just give yourself permission to blurt.
