[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

love's a dream you enter though I shake and shake and shake you

did NOT manually check her for dilation--but sent her home

OMGWTFCriminalNegligence. That's really awful; it takes three seconds to put on a sterile glove and do a quick check, and it's not like it's an MRI and costs several thousand dollars to do it.

I'm sending good vibes for all.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

it just freaked me out because she is literally due the same day I am and the thought of going into labor now scares the shit out of me.

That has to be frightening in a primal way.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Hugs and ~ma to Cash and family.

Our wings are not tired.

How awful Cashmere. It is mind blowing that she wasn't checked.

Labor is scary! I don't understand why we are not all only children. Who knows why I did it a second time. And yet we do and the overwhelming majority of us get through without damage. Fortunately what happened to her is the very rare exception.

How was your previous delivery?

information libertarian

I went back to google and a 30+ week baby generally has an excellent chance of doing very well. So if you are comforted by facts, Cash (and how can you not be - you're married to an actuary!), know that. Also, if you did go into labor early, your excellent hospital could probably DO something about it, not send you home after doing nothing when you'd already had a premature delivery.

Yikes Cash. I hope everything turns out ok.

Now tagless for your comfort.

How was your previous delivery?

The labor was long (24 hours total) and exhausting but I actually had a good delivery--45 minutes of pushing with no real problems there (thank you, EPIDURAL!). I really have no complaints because it all worked out ok and even the stuff that didn't go as I would have liked seem fairly mild to me now. I'm comfortable with the idea of doing it again but I'm just a little afraid of a premature delivery.

All the best to your family, Cashmere. I hope your cousin make a speedy recovery so she can enjoy the baby. I hope the idiot doctors can't get insurance coverage after they pay a malpractice claim the likes of which they've never seen before.

vw, congratulations on draft having!

Lilybean, feel better and slay the snot monster.

Our wings are not tired.

The second time around is generally much easier. I went 16 hours with Brendon then only about 3 hours from the first twinge with Bobby. Your personal history is more indicitive of your future deliveries. (I did however think it was outragious that my records said "easy delivery" because it was easy for them to say, not so much for me!)

Mostly lurking...

Ok. So, student who sent me a draft last night TURNED IT IN BEFORE TALKING TO ME!!!!! We had a meeting at 11:30 today, and she turned it in at class, even though she had till tomorrow morning.

It was terrible. She didn't want to spend any more time on it, so it's out of my hands, but eek.
