I think she wound up just reversing her cycles and nursing when Mother was home.
I had not thought of this, but it actually sort of makes sense. If she goes for a long period at night right now, she could adjust to doing that during the day. It would also mean less pumping for you, right? (It also means less sleep, so that's not so good, although I've heard some working moms say they actually like the nursing at night time since they are gone during the day.)
