Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
libkitty, I'm going to accept your advice as truly expert and put the dog to work!
Laura was right about the microwave, though. That's only good for the feed corn. Actually, the shower is probably the most effective, but the dog sounds like more fun.
eta: I'm off to walk home and get wet and cold myself. sigh...
Oh cool!!! The girls distracted me for a minute and then I saw the articles hit my account and I was confused for a moment. I'll check them out - THANKS!!!!!
sighhhhh...
She forgets where she puts stuff so we get our presents at random times when she finds them.
Yeah, this happened at our house a lot. Also generally a good number of gifts that did make it under the tree didn't manage to get labeled, so that was somthing of a guessing game, too.

This is so. my. mother.
My Mother is notorious for putting gifts in "a safe place" never to be seen again.
You need a cat or a bag of feed corn to microwave.
No microwaving the cat!
Punctuation is our friend. hee.
My DH is famous for losing a couple presents, and then finding them and giving them to me around April. Or when we move.
I have a mom question for the hivemind: While we were in Germany, Mal started doing this headshake thing, like he was trying to shake his bangs out of his eyes. We thought it might be an inner-ear reaction to the altitude, but he's kept it up. Now he does it voluntarily: when we shake our heads at him, he shakes his back. So we're pretty sure it's mimicking, but it's still odd. Should I mention it at his checkup? Has anyone else seen their kid do this?

I'd mention it so the doctor takes a good look see in there. However, it is very common for babies and toddlers to do things like that because they're still learning how to register all their senses. So they'll do things which make them dizzy, or their vision woobly or creates an interesting sound effect in their ear or bang their head on the door for the acoustic properties. It's basically science in action - testing out various possibilties.
