I'm waiting with baited (using the scent of brownies to lay this trap) breath for the phone to ring. New person who has skipped out on two of her training days is scheduled to come in and assist with an outing for the residents. Supervisor asked yesterday if I would be willing to step in at the last minute, if she doesn't show. The new person is supposed to get there at 10:30, and if she doesn't show up, they'll call me. It's now 10:43. Coming soon to the end of any reasonable waiting period....

The brownie-baited breath is for Daniel, so that when he kisses me next, he can say, "Better figure that into my carb count for the day." Also? It's 10:45 now.

Oh, Cindy! That so sucks! I hope the day gets better, and you can figure a way to get over to see Deb.

I am going to beat my head against the wall. I am tutoring two students this semester for Intro to Behavioral Research. Since I've been sick the last month or so, I haven't really been able to help them with their papers. So, I went OUT OF MY WAY to ask their professor to give them an extension so I can see them two more times before their papers are due.

One of them just. doesn't. get. it. First, he thought I got an extension for the whole class. Then he didn't understand that he had to meet with me in order to get the extension. I have made it VERY clear that he has to meet with me TWICE in order to get the extension. It's the only way I could convince the prof to do it. So, I e-mailed him early this morning and said, "Ok. I canl see you Tuesday at 1 and Wednesday at 1:30." He just responded and said, "I'll see you Wednesday."

NO, kid. You'll see me BOTH Tuesday and Wednesday, or your paper is due tomorrow. How difficult is this?????
